Privacy policy
Effective 2026-10-26. This policy covers the Block Bots app for iOS and Android, published by Oxyloop ("we", "us").
Summary
Block Bots has no accounts. Your progress and settings stay on your device. To see how the game is played and what to improve, the app sends anonymous usage statistics to our own server: which levels are played, how attempts end, how long sessions last. Nothing it sends says who you are, and we delete it after 25 months. The game also shows ads from Google AdMob, and Google collects some data to do that, as described below.
What we do not collect
We do not ask you to sign up, and we do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, precise location, advertising identifier or any other personal information ourselves. We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and we do not sell or share the usage statistics with anyone for their own use.
What is stored on your device
The game saves your progress (levels reached, coins, tickets, lives, daily reward), your settings (sound, vibration, music, dark theme) and a counter of cleared levels used to decide when an ad is shown. This data stays on your device and is removed when you uninstall the app. Only the usage statistics described next are sent to us.
Anonymous usage statistics
The app sends these to a server we run ourselves:
- A random install ID. The app makes it up the first time it runs. It is not your device's identifier, your Apple or Google account or an advertising identifier, and deleting the app deletes it: a reinstall starts with a new one.
- About the device: the platform (iOS or Android), the system version, the model (for example "iPhone15,2"), the app's version, the language and region settings, and the screen size.
- What happens in the app: when it is opened, when a session starts and ends and how long it lasted, a snapshot of your progress at the start of a session (next level, pictures built, coins, lives and tickets), and each attempt at a level with the level, how it ended, how long it took and how many taps, undos, hints and 2x boosts it used. Also boosters used, whether you watched, declined or could not get a rewarded video, whether an ad between levels was shown, the daily reward you claimed, when you open or view your collection, changes to the sound, music, vibration and dark theme settings, which links in Settings you open, and the result of the ads consent choice and, on iOS, the tracking permission (only whether it was given, never anything about the ads you saw).
From the network request itself we keep only the country it came from, which our network provider works out from the request. We do not store IP addresses.
Why, and on what basis. We use these statistics to understand how Block Bots is played, to balance the levels and the economy, and to find and fix problems. We rely on our legitimate interest in improving the game (Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR), which these statistics serve without telling us who you are.
Where it is kept, and who else sees it. The statistics are stored on a server we run ourselves. Traffic to it passes through Cloudflare, which protects and delivers our website and server and sees network requests as part of doing so; Cloudflare acts on our behalf and does not use them for its own purposes. No one else receives the data.
How long. Usage statistics are deleted automatically 25 months after they were recorded.
Ads (Google AdMob)
Block Bots shows rewarded video ads (which you choose to watch to earn a heart or a ticket) and interstitial ads between levels. They are provided by Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, Google and its ad partners may collect and use device identifiers (such as the advertising ID), your IP address, approximate location derived from it, device and app information, and your interactions with ads. This data is handled by Google under Google's Privacy Policy; see also how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Ads are personalized only if you consent where consent is required, and, on iOS, only if you allow tracking. Otherwise you still see ads, but they are not based on your interests.
Your choices
- Consent (EEA, UK and similar regions): when you first open the app, a consent form from Google (the User Messaging Platform) asks about ads. You can change your choice at any time in Settings › Privacy options in the app, where that option is shown.
- iOS tracking: the app asks permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. You can change it in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking (or Settings › Block Bots).
- Android advertising ID: you can reset or delete it, or opt out of ad personalization, in Android Settings › Privacy › Ads.
- Delete your data: uninstall the app, which also ends the usage statistics and breaks the link to anything already sent. Data held by Google for ads is managed through your Google account's ad settings.
Children
Block Bots is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us and we will help.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct and delete data about you, and to object to its use. Because nothing we hold tells us who you are, we usually cannot tell which records are yours; if you write to us, we will help however we can. If you are in the EEA, UK, California or elsewhere with such rights, you can also exercise them with Google for the data it processes for ads, or contact us with any request.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version appears on this page with a new effective date. A change that sends more than described above will be announced in the app before it happens.
